Established in 2012, Stitching up Detroit started as a youth-run screen-print and design collective based out of Grace in Action Collectives in Southwest Detroit. In 2018, we incorporated as a worker-owned cooperative with 5 founding members. We specialize in graphic design, textile screen-printing, poster printing, and vinyl. We offer high quality t-shirts, sweatshirts, canvas bags, decals, posters, and more.

Who We Are
Lead Screen Printer
David Camarena was born and raised in Southwest Detroit. Influenced by art as long as he has been able to hold a pencil in his hand, David loves the feeling of turning his pencil drawings into digital art. He has been printing since he was 12 years old and has created logos, t-shirt designs, business card designs, and flyers. Since 2010, David has personally printed over 10,000 shirts.
Lead Graphic Artist
Pacal was born and raised in Southwest Detroit. When he was fourteen he co-founded Stitching up Detroit with David and helped it grow into a very successful co-op over the course of five years. Pacal is also a techie and member of the Equitable Internet Initiative team. An incredibly skilled musician, Pacal is the lead guitarist in his band, Burning Society.
Henry Torres is a screen printer at Stitching up Detroit. He is 18 years old and also a student at Henry Ford College studying Computer Engineering. Henry has been a member of Stitching up Detroit for the past 4 years and loves both printing shirts for the Detroit community and also the team atmosphere exists between everyone at Stitching up Detroit. Henry wants to eventually be a Software Engineer.
Marketing and Communications
Abigail is a young, proud mother to two children under 2 years old. Born and raised in the Southwest Detroit community, giving back is her goal. Stitching up Detroit has become one of her strong interests, as a way to be a business owner and not only impact her life, but also help out her family and community. Graphic Artist and Screen Printer
Jose Nava was born and raised in Southwest Detroit. He is currently a Senior at Western International High School. Upon graduation, Jose will be pursuing a career in Communications Design at the at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Jose enjoys creating designs and t shirts that other people will enjoy wearing. Jose values what the customer wants and is always trying his best to improve on what he already knows. He is loves being part of the Stitching up Detroit cooperative because he is his own boss.
